Was a July 4th evening 6pm game with rain ON and OFF but thankfully was fit to play. Aliens assembled in time but the talk in the air was BAZBALL! . The 4th day of the postponed test , England was set to chase down India`s 378 with Root and Bairstow belting it places. With the TEST coverage buzzing amongst Aliens in over three phones all carried away, Damon bought us back to the routine warmup and the game at hand.

We won the Toss and decided RUNS on the Board having defended out total across last three games, it was a no brainer. Milton and Dennis were in . A sedate start of “seeing the new ball off” was panning out. A meagre 6 runs across 3 overs saw Dennis go crazy in the 4th over with 3 boundaries but ultimately falling in the 7th over to a stunning catch. Damon was in and the scoreboard trickled with not much flair. The wicket was tricky and with their better bowlers coming in saw Milton and Damon back in the dugout at 60/3 at 11 overs. Marcus and Sudesh were in with Sudesh finding some boundaries to ramp up the rate. 13th over saw a Marcus and Pradeesh bowled to identical inswingers. With 7 0vers to go , name of the game was surviving to get run-a-ball score. Rasel and Sudesh looked good to go long with 1s and 2s but good bowling saw both of them down by the 17th over followed by Arif in the 18th over. With 87/9 and 2.5 overs to go, onus was on Peter and Aaron to get pass 100 and over , but a run out of Peters on 19th saw the Aliens defending 92. Erik sat out the 12th man.

Having set our lowest 1st innings score of the season to defend and no regular keeper, Dennis the captain donned the gloves with much enthusiasm. Peter opened the attack delivering a brilliant maiden!. Erik followed suit to pick up the opener with a bouncer in his 1st over while Damon picked the other rattling his stumps. The 3 down batsman Moghees looked good , strokes and feet movement saw he would go the distance but two successive run outs and a wicket by Peter saw him play with caution. 7 down Nauman with a traditional game was good support and they put up a long partnership which saw the game fizzing away from us . Aaron, Rasel & Arif bowled good spells but the runs were piling up in the form of 1s and 2s. Moghees and Nauman were treading well when Damon struck to remove the former off a catch at point by Marcus. BOOM! With 30 odd of 5 and 4 wickets, a ray of HOPE!. Two run outs followed with one, a clinical throw from Sudesh at deep square saw Nauman run out. 2 wickets to go and Peter picked the 9th in his final over. 9 runs to get of the last with Damon searing in, the game poised to go either way, he picked up the 10th wicket to grab a Great win. One that turned in our favour through great teamwork!!. A memorable WIN!!
