It was an incredibly blusterly/windy afternoon at Ekerberg, the conditions made bowling and fielding somewhat more difficult than usual. Marcus (23) and James (22) got the Aliens off to a solid and quick-ish start before they both fell, unusually, to defensive shots. This brought Jamie (95) to the crease, at this point the sideline banter became infinitely more interesting and before we knew it Jamie had passed 50.

Dennis (23) hit a very nice 6 before failing to do it again.

Dave K, (67) obviously confused over whether to bat right or left handed concluded that cow corner was somewhere over extra cover.

Without the use of such wagon wheel technology the Oslo bowlers were never in with a chance, every time the ball went over cover they were left scratching their heads, clearly (due to the lack of fielders out there) concluding he could not keep doing it again.

Dave H and Richie were talking to some girls on the sideline that had come to watch, 39 overs past before they realized it they were chatting up their own girlfriends. They both padded up and hoped they could get out into the middle as soon as possible. At this awkward juncture we conferred with the scorers. With 6 balls left Jamie was on 93, he scored 2 off the 1st ball of the last over then once informed of his score by various shouts and signals from the sideline he got out.

Oslo came out to bat and proceeded to hit the ball as hard as they could, so hard in fact that Sunil’s knuckle burst open while attempting a diving catch. After much amateur medical advice and discussion it was agreed that Sunil could leave for the hospital, we really hope that Sunil makes a full recovery from this – it did look awful.

The Aliens bowling was a mixed bag, Oslo batted with some luck and unfortunately the wickets came just a little too late to force a victory.
