League Match 3: Aliens vs Vålerenga Cricket Club
After winning first league game easily we were confident to face Vålerenga and to best of my knowledge we lost the toss and asked to field first.
This was a first midweek league game and getting everyone to the ground was a massive struggle .
Harry Singh almost pulled out of the game and the news broke out in Norwegian media and Dave and Dennis from Aliens management had to address media and sort out the logistic for Harry.
At the start of the match we could see media presence with all the cameras searching for Harry.
Now lets move on to the match - Vålerenga lost their first wicket very early as Damo bowled full length outside the off delivery and Ahmadzai tried to swing it hard but ended up giving a catch to Harry in the first slip who took a sharp catch and with this 30000 spectators jumped out of their seat and there started the Mexican waves.
Over all Aliens bowled very well with Damo being tight arse as always and conceded with 1.25 economy rate and was well supported by Dave who just roll his arm over these days and end up with 3 wickets every game.
BUT BIG BUTT – key Highlight of the bowling unit was MR Bouncer AKA Pete rocking up to bowl as lose as anyone can get and bowled his first 3 bowls and ended up with wicket. All credit goes to Pete as he has been training under Denisse Lillie guidance during preseason training and all that hard work paid off.
Looking backward This got to be one of the worst figure for Mark in this season .
Moving on to Batting side – in this game We have broken all records to find innovative ways to get run outs .
Aliens started off really well with our expert opener Bazz didn’t bother scorers too much and Matt had the best strike rate of the season with 23 runs of 34 balls. Unfortunately, Aliens won’t have pleasure to see Matt scoring with 100% Strike rate this year.
Aliens found out very quick that they were chasing a stiff target of 96 runs and we were 66/5 after 15 overs .At this time Harry walked in and got golden advice from Marcus no to take double run as it could lead to run out , 3 balls later Marcus called for double run at the danger end decided to throw his golden advice out of window.
This brought Dave in the game who showed glimpse of stability for 3 balls and decided to get out as he fancied writing whatapp commentary rather than sticking around with harry.
With this tense situation Mr Edward Snowdon walked in and walked out in a rush as if Americans throwing the hand grenades.
This brought another bushranger into the game when we needed 9 runs to win in 10 overs, which was clearly not recognised by Pete (we still got 10 overs left) as he was practicing ramp shots outside the ground while Harry and Hinchy trying to win the game.
HH faced 4 overs to score 9 runs and frustrated the opponent bowlers and scored 5 wides out of that frustration.Over all great game and one of the biggest nail bitter I have been involved with.
