League Match 4: Aliens vs Inter Lions Cricket Club

See the scorecard at CricHQ

The Norwegian cricket world is a small one, and it didn’t take long after the season started before we began to hear about Inters new batsman, who had - depending who you listened to- either played a good level in the UK, or paddle sweeped Jofra Archer for 6 the week before.

After Dennis lost the toss it wasn’t long before we found out. Walid Ghauri’s first couple of balls passed without event until one of Damon’s better balls halfway though the over was lasered through extra cover before anyone could move.

The rest of the innings continued in the same vain, with Walid making the game look very easy, and the rest of the Inter batsmen making it look very hard.

Walid finished with 152* from 99 balls, the rest of his team managed 71 from 61, including Extras. Inter finished up on 223-5 in the 30 overs leaving most Aliens of the opinion that it was chasable. Unfortunately at this point the heavens opened, so we did the usual hanging about in the rain for a few hours before we shook hands and went home with 2 points.
