I was not there but the game went exactly like this…
The aliens won the toss and went in to bat, Dennis and Matthew were very keen to show their form. The pair got off to an ominous start however as Fentem (after watching Dennis smash 23 runs in half as many balls) caught a thick edge on his second ball which was taken by gully (possibly).
Dennis and Shahabaz managed to keep the runs rolling by until a screaming inswinger moved at least 3 bats widths and cleaned up the ex-skipper. It looked something like this…
Shahabas and the Dave managed to build a partnership and keep the momentum for the next 6 overs before trouble started. First Dave gets cleaned up in similar fashion to Dennis, then 10 balls later Shahabaz lollies one back to the bowler. Another 10 later Marcus creams one for the boundary and gets caught on the ropes (when the fielder jumps, catches, throws the ball back in, runs back in and catches again. It was very impressive). The to finish the innings in style, Benan manages to find those most elusive of dismissals and earns himself a Diamond duck.
Nonetheless, with 127 runs on the board, and only 18 overs to chase, Kalbakken is in with a challenge.
From the very start the aliens show they are up to said challenge and start tightening the screws. Dennis starts dolling out some of the same punishment that dismissed him and removes one of the openers. 2 overs later he gets another, finding the slightest tickle on the bat and leaving Shahabaz with the easiest of catches.
Next it was time for Matthew to dish out some pain, taking 3 wickets in 4 over. Nice.
David and Aaron also got 2 wickets each. Probably getting absolute spin and leaving the batsmen completely bamboozled. Like this
In the end the aliens brought it home with 54 runs to spare and it was definitely a game for the kistory books.
