To start with the weather conditions were great under the September sun, cozy and warm.
We lost the toss which was not a bad toss to lose given that we got to field first. The game started quite in our favor to begin with. Its nice when you can send the opener batsmen back spl. by rattling their timber, we fumbled a few chances but we got some amazing catches of which all are worth mentioning.
Fielding : Three catches :) in the order of excellence
1.Kishore ..super timing ..Kishore looked in perfect balance and not a slightest doubt, he just got the catch as if he is been catching on this position his whole life. Not to mention that this batsman was looking quite good, he didn’t gave us too many chances... it was just the one and Kishore took it. Well Done
2. Mitch took the catch almost too close to the boundary from one of the full tosses from Chris! Given some previous fails I was anxiously waiting for the moment when the ball would land in Mitch’s hands and would stick in between his palms. There was great joy as a very good looking catch went flat and straight to his body.
3. and the catch of the match goes to Chris... From where I was standing it looked as though it would be hard for Chris to even make a contact with the approaching ball... with fast moving feet and the ball quickly ball dropping, he crouched lower until he got the ball and ended up sliding over the filed, a super duper catch.
Other observation : looking at the score card I think we gave too many chances to their highest scoring batsman, we would have it under 110 or something if we didn’t loose a bit of concentration in the middle.
Aliens Batting: as I mentioned if we would be sharp enough to pick the wicket under regular intervals and not give few extras and took these chances… So coming to the highest scorer in our side Damon Crawford, some very good looking boundaries, I see you have worked on ur bating technique and the nimplementing it on the field… good work Crawf. If only we would have had few more standing up to the occasion. It wasn’t a tough game but the constant falling of the wickets and falling behind the required run rate from the very beginning made sure that we lost the game.
We might want to sometimes send one or two batsman just to go and smash around a bit and take the chances, then put some pressure on the opposition to turn the chances in our favor. But all in all its was a good game. It was a lots of fun being out there and supporting each other.
Good work Aliens and tough luck this time
Lets make the last game a memorable experience.
